Ajax records their biggest win in Eredivisie history.

Ajax recorded the biggest victory in the history of the Eredivisie with a 13-0 thrashing of VVV Venlo as they reclaimed top spot above rivals PSV.

It was the biggest winning margin in Dutch topflight history, surpassing Ajax’s own 12-1 win over Vitesse in May 1972. Lassina Traore, 19, scored five goals as veteran Dutch striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar scored a brace in the whitewash. The Amsterdam giants were 4-0 up in the first half with goals from midfielder Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, Traore’s brace, and former Southampton star Dusan Tadic also got his name on the scoresheet. But the defending champions came out smoking in the second half scoring nine goals to further humiliate their opponents. After Christiaan Kum’s sending off in the 52nd minute, things went from bad to worse for VVV as Ajax scored five goals in 11 minutes.

Traore completed his hat-trick before setting up Brazilian star Antony in the 55th minute. Jurgen Ekkelenkamp grabbed his brace two minutes later before Daley Blind made it 8-0. Lassina Traore added his fourth before Jan Huntelaar made it 10-0 from a spot-kick. The former Real Madrid man made it 11-0 in the 76th minute.

Lisandro Martinez and Traore scored the last two goals of the match as the Dutch giants bounced back from their midweek Champions League defeat to Liverpool.

Barcelona did not have much problem to do when they dispatched Dynamo Kiev by 2-0 in the Champions League Group G cracker.

Sergino Dest, Martin Braithwaite’s brace and Antoine Griezmann’s goal ensured Barca continued their perfect run in the competition. Lionel Mess and Frenkie de Jong were rested for the fixture as six new players were brought into the starting XI against the Ukrainian side. Ronald Koeman’s men had a shaky start into the match as Dynamocreated a couple of decent chances but were wasteful in front of goal. But right at the start of the second period, La Blaugrana started the game on a bright note as Dest made it 1-0 courtesy of an assist from Braithwaite in the 52nd minute.

The lead was doubled five minutes later as Oscar Mingueza flicked on a header from corner kick for Braitwaith to steer in at the near post. 2-0 it was to Barca. Braithwaite won a penalty in the 69th minute and converted the resulting spot-kick to complete his brace and make it 3-0.

Substitute Griezmann sealed it for Barcelona in the second minute of the 90 as the Frenchman’s shot found the roof of the net from a Jordi Alba’s assist.
