John Legend slams President Trump

Published

on

John Legend has branded US President Donald Trump an ”idiot” and admitted he thinks it will take America a long time to get over the covid-19 pandemic because of the leader’s ”incompetence”.

The ‘Bigger Love’ singer hit out at the US leader’s ”dumb” suggestions, such as his recent musings that disinfectant injections could help covid-19 patients, and admitted he doesn’t think there could be anyone worse leading the nation at the current time.
He fumed: ”It’s so ridiculous. It’s almost like you can’t believe it’s real that we elected this idiot to be the president of the United States.
”The things that he says are just so ridiculously dumb and so ridiculously selfish and narcissistic at the same time.
He says a bunch of ridiculous happy-talk home remedies that people should not be doing and he thinks he’s brilliant because he has a relative who is a doctor.

”And then you combine that with the fact that he doesn’t listen to scientists and makes every decision on how it will benefit him personally. He’s also a very short-term thinker, so he doesn’t think much about how to handle big, complex problems that require planning and long-term vision.
He’s the exact opposite of what we need right now.
John thinks the pandemic will last much longer in America because of the president’s ”incompetence” and lack of long-term thinking.
He told the new issue of GQ Hype: ”It couldn’t be a worse person to be in charge right now than him and that’s what America is stuck with and that’s why we have the highest death rate in the world from this disease and I don’t believe we’re going to be out of the woods for a while, because of his incompetence, his selfishness, his short sightedness and his inability to coordinate a real national response.
The 41-year-old singer – who has children Luna, four, and Miles, 23 months, with wife Chrissy Teigen. thinks he and his family have ”adjusted” to lockdown measures quite well but knows they are lucky to be in a privileged position.
He said: ”I feel like we’ve adjusted pretty well.
”We’re fortunate, of course. We have the resources to deal with everything we need to deal with in a pretty painless way.
”We have our family unit and we love our kids and love hanging out with them. And they especially love being home with us 24/7. We’re making the best of a wild situation.

Bruno Fernandes’s penalty hamds United a first home win in a match of two penalties

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer concedes his side were ‘lucky’ that West Brom had a penalty decision overturned in their 1-0 win at Old Trafford.

After a goalless first 45 minutes, Slaven Bilic’s side were awarded a spot-kick early in the second half after referee David Coote ruled that Bruno Fernandes had fouled Conor Gallagher in the box.

VAR however intervened with the decision eventually changed after Coote reviewed the incident on the sideline. Replays suggested Fernandes did make some contact with the ball before the man.

The Red Devils made the most of the call and were themselves awarded a penalty 10 minutes later which Fernandes tucked away at the second time of asking after his first attempt was saved only for goalkeeper Sam Johnstone to be caught coming of his line.

Solskjaer, referencing Aston Villa’s similarly overturned last-minute spot-kick in their 2-1 home defeat to Brighton earlier on Saturday, told BT Sport he thought both penalties should have been awarded.

He said: “I looked at the penalty this afternoon at Villa-Brighton, and there’s contact on the ball and the man. In my head, it might be a penalty, and there as well.

With this victory, United see themselves in the top half of the table for the first time this seasin with 13 points from 9 games at 8th position.

While for West Brom, they remain in the bottom three with only 3 points.

United will host Istanbul Basaksehir midweek, while also to play away to Southampton on Sunday.
