OMG! 17-Year-Old Girl Committed Suicide With Sniper In Her Married Boyfriend’s House

A 17-year-old lady, identified as Victoria Nwogu has died after ingesting poisonous pesticide, Sniper at her married boyfriend’s house in the Jibowu area of Lagos State.

Her boyfriend, a 34-yr-old Welder identified as Tunde Kasali has been arrested in connection with the death which occurred in his apartment.

It was reported that a bottle of open Sniper was found in his apartment where the alleged suicide took place. Reports revealed that Kasali is married with children but also got an apartment for himself alone where he usually relaxes by himself or in company of his girlfriend.

Kasali told the police that he woke up around 1am and found Nwogu panting for breath, suspecting that she drank from the Sniper.

His argument was, however, contested by the police and he was taken into custody.

A resident, who identified herself only as Adenike, revealed that the circumstances surrounding Nwogu’s death was shrouded in secrecy.

She said, “The man (Kasali) is married but he does not live here. I learnt he rented the apartment where he normally relaxes. It was in the morning of February 9 I saw people discussing the incident. Those who have been seeing the girl with him said she was a student at a polytechnic in Lagos.

“He was claiming that he did not do anything to her but there was no one between to bear him witness since it was only him and the girl that were together in the room.”

Kasali has been kept behind bars as investigation continues into the matter.

Lai Mohammed calls for regulation of social media.

The minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Tuesday, October 27 said that the nation is sitting on a keg of gun powder regarding the issue of fake news, hence the need for the federal government to immediately begin to regulate the social media space.

The minister stated this while responding to questions from federal lawmakers when he appeared before the House of Representatives committee on information, national orientation, ethics and values.Alhaji Lai Mohammed has continued his advocacy for social media regulation. Alhaji Mohammed made reference to the recent #ENDSARS protest, saying that it was fought on social media.

His words:

“They mobilised using social media. The war today revolves around two things. Smart phones and data and these young men don’t even watch television or listen to the radio or read newspapers. “We are sitting on a time bomb on this issue of fake news. Unfortunately, we have no national policy on social media and we need one. The minister’s latest comments is expected to spark reactions across the country as young Nigerians have been warning against government’s alleged plans to gag them on social media.

The authorities have promised that they don’t intend to completely shut down social media in the country, but the distrust between government and the led in Nigeria has been that of mutual suspicion.
